PREMIERE
24TH EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL OF LILLE
Epsom,
Surrey, UK - March 16, 2008 - The uncompromising new
short film ‘SICK’, endorsed by Samaritans,
has been invited to compete at the 24th European Film
Festival of Lille from 22 - 28 March 2008. The 35mm production
is the debut of 28 year old Writer/Director Mike Rymer
and will receive its International Premiere on March 22nd
(designated by the festival as British Day) before representing
the UK in screenings throughout the festival week. At
the closing ceremony the film, which is riding a wave
of domestic support, will be considered for a host of
awards alongside other selected European films.
The film is supported by the UK Film Council through regional
agency Screen South and their award from The Regional
Investment Fund For England. Screen Subtitling Systems,
a world leader in subtitling transmission systems, has
supported the production of a film print with French subtitles.

is a thought provoking film deserving of a wide International
audience.”

'SICK' is a 15 minute independant drama and a co-production by EgoProject Films and Patchwork Productions. It was produced by Christine Hartland and directed by Mike Rymer from a script that he developed while at the Skillset Screen Academy Wales.
