SOUTH CONFIRM LOTTERY AWARD FOR
‘THOUGHT PROVOKING’ SHORT FILM
Epsom,
Surrey, UK - October 15, 2007 - Screen South is the
latest industry organization to pledge support for EgoProject
Films’ flagship short film ‘SICK’. The
co-production with Patchwork Productions confronts challenging
themes of depression, addiction, substance abuse, alienation,
and emotional redundancy.
The money from the Regional Investment Fund for England
(RIFE) will enable festival submissions of the film for
the international circuit 2007/8.
Miranda Robinson (Head of Development and Training
at Screen South) said:
“Screen South are delighted to support Mike Rymer
in the distribution of his short film ‘SICK’,
which is a thought provoking film deserving of a wide
International audience.”
Mike Rymer (Writer/Director for ‘SICK’)
said:
“One in four people are affected by mental illness
but it remains taboo. It is amazing that something so
prevalent should be so unspoken and this film seeks to
start breaking down some of those barriers. We are indebted
to Screen South for their invaluable support.”
Note to Editors:
'SICK' is a 15 minute independant drama. It was produced
by Christine Hartland and directed by Mike Rymer from
a script that he developed while at the Skillset Screen
